Web/Multimedia Department Manager

Based in Vernon, B.C., we are a fast-paced, growing multimedia company. We are in need of a Website Project Coordinator.
This position is part of our web development division. The Project Coordinator works with our clients in gathering the required information to build their websites and helps assign and lead the project from beginning to completion.
A solid understanding of the web development process is required.
This position requires excellent communication skills both within the team and with our clients.

We are a fast paced growing company based in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada seeking a Web Department Manager for a small production team. Responsibilities would range from management of the day to day team operation, product development, project/time management, online marketing, and communications with departments/clientele.

The successful candidate would be required to have:

* Strong managerial and team leading ability

* Exceptional communication and customer service skills

* Project/Time management skills

* Knowledge of/and ability to stay up-to-date with current and emerging trends

* A working ability with current design and development software.

* Search Engine Optimization/Marketing Knowledge

Other beneficial skills considered an assets include:

* Experience with hosting and cloud platforms (Digital Ocean, AWS, Heroku, Azure)

* Configuration and Administration of Linux based operating systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Alpine, CentOS)

* Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, LXC/LXD)
* Ability to work with a VCS (Git) and CI/CD Pipelines

* Proficiency with Shell Scripts, PHP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript including the NodeJS ecosystem
* SEO, SEM and Social Media Advertising knowledge
* Creative design abilities and experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)

Social Media Marketing Coordinator - Vernon

Social Media Marketing Coordinator

Based in Vernon, B.C., Canada, we are a fast-paced, growing, company. We are looking for a Social Media Marketing (SMM) Coordinator to manage the social media services we provide to our clients. This would include creating social media posts (approximately 20 unique posts per week), as well as creating and managing ads on Facebook.

Requirements:

  • Creative mind – able to create unique and engaging posts – from towing companies to restaurants to immigration lawyers!
  • Knowledge of Facebook Pages / Facebook Ads
  • Must be extremely well-organized and able to multi-task
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc…)
  • Knowledge of Google Drive / Google Docs (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc…)
  • Creative design abilities and experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • A positive attitude & team player!

Nice-to-Have’s:

has an immediate opening for a weekend reporter/editor in the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia.

We are a growing news organization in the B.C. Interior covering Kamloops and the Okanagan cities of Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton. The successful candidate will live in one of these cities. We work individually and as a team to break important stories that matter to our readers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for finding and presenting news from our region on weekends as well as a chance to work on special projects.

The reporter/editor may work from various locations. Candidates should have their own computer and camera and will be compensated. Weekend and some evening work will be required.

Candidates will also possess

  • Strong writing and photography skills
  • An interest in real news and journalism
  • Willingness to learn how to shoot video and do video reporting
  • Develop and maintain a good network of sources and contacts
  • Strong computer skills and ability to interact with the public
  • An ability to meet deadlines, communicate well with senior staff and work unsupervised
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Suite of products
  • Training in journalism or relevant experience preferred
